Mining for gold, lead and mercury have played an important part in the history of Quartzsite and to a lesser degree are still going on. The museum has a fine display of mining equipment. The Assay Office from the Mariquita Mine is now part of the museum and contains a display of assay and mining equipment from local mines. Larger mining equipment is displayed in outside exhibits. There is a black light display of many fluorescent minerals, common to the area. Come in and check out our new digital slide show of our beautiful Desert blooms. ********************************************** We will be looking forward to resuming our field trips this winter.
